Big Sleep Out - Winchester · 11 May 2018 to 12 May 2018 ·

Trinity is a unique charity operating in the city of Winchester. Its aim is to promote positive, fulfilling lifestyles, emotional wellbeing and long-term changes for those experiencing the effects of domestic abuse and homelessness: substance misuse, mental ill-health, poverty, and social isolation.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The number of people who are homeless is on the rise, not just in terms of people sleeping on the streets, but the 'hidden homeless', staying in hostels, sofa surfing or in unsuitable, temporary accommodation.  The current estimate of homeless people in England is over 300,000, according to charity Shelter.  Trinity Winchester exists to support people out of their homeless situation.

Nine of us will be taking part in the 'Big Sleep Out', run by Trinity Winchester, on 11th May 2018.  This will involve us building our own shelters and sleeping in them overnight.
