Story
This is Finlay. Son of my Cousin Chris and his wife Jude and brother of James.
In February last year he was diagnosed with an Inoperable Brain Tumor. It didn't look good from the start. Yet despite extensive treatment as well as care by The RM, Finlay's family never gave up hope for nearly a year.
At the end of January 2014, Finlay lost his battle. I was fortunate enough to see him and his family in his last month and was moved and inspired to see the bravery, resiliance and dare I say happiness in the face of such adversity.
In the last few months of his life Finlay and his family managed to pack in so much to create such a happy family atmosphere against the toughest emotional odds.
I've not done any proper excerise in over 20 years and this experience taught me to be thankful, happy and resilient. Especially when getting up a 5am for a few weeks to train for this run!
I'm running the Ashdon10K near Saffron Walden on Bank Holiday 5th May and I am hoping to raise as much money as I can by drawing on the generosity of the friends in life and business.
So, if you would be so kind and sponsor me for a £1, more or much more (the amount doesn't matter) then I would be forever grateful and you would be doing something for cancer treatment, family care and research.
Thank you so much for taking the time and I promise to do my best in my first middle-long distance run in memory of Finlay.
Andrew
P.S. I've had some kind offers for off-line donations of £120.00 to date. Please email andrew.rodwell@rodwellgroup.co.uk to make arrangements and I'll save your details accordingly.
