Cycling Mount Everest · 15 June 2020

Through the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal, Above & Beyond will be raising money to help University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust deal with the outbreak of COVID-19.

Story

Sponsored cycle ride in aid of NHS charity.

I am going to attempt a mammoth several-day cycle ‘climb’,
the height of Mount Everest, 29,029 ft (8,848 metres), starting on Monday 15th June.

The specific NHS charity is the Bristol hospitals charity
'Above and beyond’:  https://www.aboveandbeyond.org.uk/

Unfortunately, with the current lock-down, I can’t travel to
Nepal to do it, just as well, as there is no path to the summit !

SO: I plan to cycle up the Prescott hill-climb circuit 148
times, it being a 60 metre climb:

The Bugatti Owners club, that own the climb, have kindly allowed me use of the private road.

It will take several days, perhaps 6, if I can manage it at
all.

Lock-down means minimal training, and my bikes are steel
framed and not the lightest, but they should do the trick.

Please consider sponsoring this attempt as it is in aid of
people whose efforts and risks must touch our hearts.

Thankyou. Andy.
