Since 1998 Cecily's Fund has transformed the lives of thousands of the most vulnerable children in Zambia by enabling them to go to school. Education gives them a ladder out of the destitution to which they are otherwise condemned. Tragically Cecily died there in her gap year. This is her legacy.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been a trustee of Cecily's Fund for a number of years and have seen the growing impact the charity has had working with orphaned and vulnerable Zambian children to ensure they get an education thereby improving their future life chances.

One of the local projects we support is BISO which operates a community school in Chazanga Compound on the outskirts of Lusaka. BISO provides access to education for children who would otherwise probably not attend school and gets them to a level whereby they can then move into local state schools.  BISO's support for these children continues with contributions to the fees that are payable for children attending secondary schools in Zambia.

I'm doing the swim as part of our 20th anniversary fundraising campaign and my target of £500 would support the continued schooling of 10 children at secondary school for a year
