Story
We are ex service members friends and family of Ian Black who we unfortunately lost in September due to an aneurism. It was very shocking to us all as Ian was just a super fit person. He was in training for the Iron Man Competition at the age of 60 on his passing.
We have chosen to run 165 miles to celebrate Ians toughest race at 57. The Marathon Des Sables which is reputedly to be 165 miles in torturous heat in the desert. An incredible feat and truly amazing at his age. He constantly challenged himself. Ian is a great loss to Family and Friends alike so on the 12 of June we will blow off the cobwebs by running 165+ miles between us then after all the aches and pains have a few drinks, a few tears, share storys and celebrate what would have been Ians 60th Birthday. Most of us are sharing that very same age so the 10 miles we have inlisted for won't be easy. I pray on the day we all get through with little or no injuries.
We all look forward to meeting Margaret and her family. Bless you all for your help and support
I would also like to Thank Vic Rose and rambling Veterans for their group support. We also have a group of friends and Veterans in Australia and New Zealand running on the same day for Ian.
