London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am not a serious runner so a full marathon is the challenge that i need to feel like i have made that effort to get to that finishing line .

I also feel i want to help in whatever way i can in the research that is going on into this Terrible memory zapping disease.

I have the knowledege that 20 years ago when i was probably at the peak of my fitness and i ran in a really good time and crossing that line was indeed a great feeling although the free mars bar was a close second! Now i will use the aid of modern technology to get me through...and the thought of the hot bath after!

I am running the Marathon for Alzeimers because i lost a very dear mother and grandmother so i feel it is that, that will drive me to finish in whatever time i finish in. And with your support it will make me even more focused on the big day. Thanks for looking . Regards . Andy
