Cotswold Way Challenge 2022 · 25 June 2022 to 26 June 2022 ·

We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.

Story

I was involved in a serious car crash in November. I was parked at the scene of an accident. Unfortunately the lady had brake failure and drove into me at approximately 60 mph.

Luckily when Addenbrooks scan for a fractured neck, the next day someone else goes over the scan looking for other things.

They found a 27mm lump in the thyroid.

Unfortunately after quickly getting me in for a biopsy I have to have the Thyroid removed. Not sure which cancer it is yet.

Unfortunately i then caught covid. Causing delay of 7 weeks as there is another 4 percent chance of dieing statistically.

Hopefully operation is now the 29th.

Thanks for finding it Addenbrooks.
