Our beautiful sister Clare died tragically in December of last year aged 40. Clare was receiving treatment for a mental health illness when she suddenly suffered multiple seizures which led to a serious brain injury. She very sadly never recovered, leaving us shocked and devastated.

Clare loved to run and raised money for a number of charities. She also spent her career teaching and mentoring children and teenagers.

In memory of Clare and to get more people talking about mental health, supported by Clare's daughter and my niece, Mary-anne, my sisters Helen and Nicola, brother Tony, my sister-in-law Vicky, my best mate Gary and I are all taking part in the Cheltenham Half Marathon to raise money for Teens in Crisis, a very special local charity close to our hearts.

It is estimated that 1 in 10 young people in England have a significant mental health illness and that 75% of adults who suffer from mental health first had the symptoms before the age of 24. 

TIC+ is a Gloucestershire based charity which is committed to Crisis Prevention, Intervention and Care for teenagers. They are committed to promoting and preserving good mental health in children and young people.
