Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

I completed the marathon on 11 April in 3 hrs 28 mins, on a bright sunny morning in Paris. It was an amazing route, starting on the Champs d'Elysee and taking in many of the iconic sights before finishing on the Avenue Foch. There was also a great atmosphere among the 32,000 runners, with plenty of support, music and entertainment along the way. This was my first (and quite possibly last) marathon - I'm pleased with my time and (mostly) enjoyed the experience (although in the final miles an internal voice saying "please let this be over" was getting louder!) The winner's time of 2hrs 6mins does of course put my effort into perspective.

More importantly, thanks to your donations a substantial sum of money has been raised for the Prostate Cancer Charity. I'm sure this will be a real help in their research efforts and in supporting sufferers of this all too common disease.

Thanks again to everyone for your donations and your encouragement - it really helped to motivate me through the training and the race itself.
