Story

As you may know, I spent most of August 2019  in King’s after collapsing during a half marathon due to heatstroke/ rhabdo (muscle breakdown) which led me to having acute liver and kidney failure as well as Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart).

Without doubt I owe my life and recovery to the incredible NHS staff at King’s (and St George’s where I was initially transferred) on the Liver Intensive Care Unit.

My mum, Sarah and I will be taking part in the annual King’s College Hospital Hike (no running events for me for a while!) to raise money directly for the Liver Intensive Care Unit to help continue their world leading research, to care for the 800 patients it receives each year and ultimately help save more lives.
