Story
Edinburgh Dog & Cat home have really been hit hard during this difficult year and are still needing help. It’s estimated that they will lose up to £650,000 this year due to the effects of the pandemic.
For nearly 140 years they have provided a safe place for pets who have come from the most awful of circumstances. Now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, their long term future is uncertain and they have already had to close their boarding kennels.
They are a non profit organisation who receives no government or statutory funding, they solely rely on the generosity of their supporters to continue their vital work. In the last month or so they have managed to raise over £160,000 all from donations made by the public and I wish to play my part in raising money for them.
I hope with your help to raise as much money as possible by running a mile for every year that they have been established (137 years). My plan is to ATTEMPT to run 137 miles over the course of 5 days between 20th-24th Dec which works out at doing a marathon each day. I write “attempt” in bold as I am not an avid runner and haven’t ran since I did the Edinburgh Marathon last year.
