Advantage Africa supports people affected by poverty, disability and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes. Our work helps vulnerable people to help themselves and build a better future for their families and communities.

Story

Thank you for visiting Andrew and Jane's 2014 Marathon page.  Andrew ran the London Marathon on 13th April and Jane's running the Milton Keynes Marathon on 5th May.

We're fundraising so Advantage Africa can help those affected by poverty, disability and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes. As founders of the charity, we promise to use your donation to help marginalised people work their way out of poverty and become self-reliant.

It’s your support, and the thought of helping people like Cherish in Uganda that will spur us on through 26.2 miles to the finish of our marathons. Cherish is a young girl living with albinism who is vulnerable to skin cancer, discrimination and constant fear of abduction by witch doctors who say albino body parts impart wealth. Advantage Africa's new albinism project in Uganda's Busoga region will help more than 300 people with albinism to overcome such challenges and improve their lives.

Please give generously to support the dreams of people like Cherish for a better future. JustGiving will pass on your donation to Advantage Africa directly together with any Gift Aid due. Just £30 will provide a child living with albinism with appropriate clothing, hats and high factor suncream to protect them from skin cancer. Thank you.

For our part we'll give it our all on the 13th April and 5th May. You can check our updates below to see if we’ve been training enough!
