Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After 5 years of trying I have finally gained a place in the New York Marathon for 2013.
Sadly I have not spent 5 years training in anticipation and so must now get out the trainers, loosen off the waist of my shorts and start pounding the streets for the next 6 months to get back into shape (or at least a shape which does not resemble a ball).
To keep motivated and stop me sitting at home when it rains I intend to raise funds for a local charity and guilt myself into training on the basis of not letting someone else down !!
The Berkshire County Blind Society is an independent charity, established in 1910, providing services, advice and support to over 2,000 blind and partially sighted people of all ages in Berkshire, helping them to live safely and independently.
The charity which receives no funding from central government, the NHS or the RNIB and so relies upon donations and its own fundraising endeavours to sustain its Charitable services.
I'd aslo like to try and get to a meaningful total over the next 6 months so I (and no doubt the BCBS) would greatly appreciate it whether you dig deep or give a pound - it will all add up.
And now for the Just Giving bit
