Story

Over the past 10 years the incredible staff at the QE Hospital and Women's Hospital in Birmingham have given the gift of life to my family.

10 years ago we bought Charlie into the world a bit too early (12 weeks) and he was kept alive thanks to the dedication of the neonatal team at the Womens hospital. 2 years later Rachel had a Liver Transplant at the QE hospital where she received the best of care. we then went on to bring Oscar into the world...who also arrived a bit early and was cared for by the wonderful neonatal team.

In April this year - out of the blue, Rachel had to undergo double heart valve replacement surgery at the QE which was an incredibly complex and high risk procedure. It has been a tough road to recovery but I am really proud of Rachel and how well she is doing.

Some people say we have had an unlucky run of it but I think the opposite. The QE have given us the gift of life! the gift of being a family, and the gift to love our children and see them grow-up. A day does not go by when I don't fully appreciate what we have and its all thanks to the QE Staff and the NHS.

Please help me raise funds as a way of thanking the surgeons, consultants and nurses at the QE Hospital Birmingham for all they have done for the Easters. Thank you
