Story

Post-race update.

I have to report that one of my targets was challenged as I was indeed overtaken by a rhino at one point. But as it was only in the first 100 yards, I had 26 miles to get back at him which I just managed to do. Foul play would have been considered otherwise.

I got round in 5hrs 8minutes which was a bit longer than hoped, but then the course was also a bit longer than hoped…especially at the 21 mile mark.

To anyone thinking of doing this, I can heartily recommend it….once.

Crowds were fantastic all the way round. Steel bands, Japanese drummers, people doling out jelly babies/mars bars/a pint of guiness, kids doing high fives all encouraging me to keep on going and get to the finish in the Mall.

Thanks to all who supported me here and elsewhere. If anyone sees me signing up for next year, feel free to approach me with a big boot!
