Story
What are we doing?
Picture this: a European road trip that's been on our bucket list what feels like a lifetime.
We're talking about taking an £800 worn-out car (some tools and hopefully some spare parts too!) and driving it over 2,500 miles from West Yorkshire all the way to Denmark, the land of Vikings, Lego, and mind-blowing architecture.
Why are we doing this?
Well, it's all for Andy's Man Club. If you haven't heard of them, they are a charity that's all about supporting men's mental health, helping men through the power of conversation, and preventing suicide.
It all started in Halifax, West Yorkshire, where this charity has had a huge impact: spreading its reach across Yorkshire and beyond, providing support to countless fathers, brothers, and sons when they've needed it the most.
Mental health affects all of us in some way, but us guys have a reputation for keeping it all bottled up inside. Our goal is simple: if we can share the word about this incredible charity and help even just one person in their battle, then we've achieved what we set out to do.

What is this odd looking car?
It's a 2004 Suzuki Wagon R+. 1328ccm 16v M13A engine, 94hp... that's probably way more than you wanted to know though, right?
Dave is insistent on making it stand out from the crowd... hence the wheels we've bolted on, the custom fit wheel-arches, and more to come.
I'll likely try sticking to the electrics and stemming the exhaust/oil leaks... as I'll confess that bodywork and styling is not my forte !!
A little about me, and more:
You may, or may not, know me well enough to see that I don't just like tinkering with computers in my spare time --- but also spending time in the garage tinkering with cars, usually old VW's, I've been known to have a go at tackling fixing all-sorts though over the years... !
Two blokes cramped up in a car for a week, should give us plenty of time to put the world to rights, because after all: "IT’S OKAY TO TALK."
We're aiming to explore as many countries as possible along the way, fit in a bit of sight-seeing, whilst raising as much money as we can for this fantastic cause. Let's make this road trip unforgettable and make a real difference in people's lives!
All being well, I'll be updating the page whenever we make any progress with getting the car road-worthy, and also ready for the trip.
Dave and Andrew are doing all this as part of the 'Screwball Rally' - more details of this can be found on their site: https://www.screwballrally.co.uk
