Story
Last year, Felix (my colleague's son) was admitted to Bristol Children's Hospital suffering from headaches and sickness. This resulted in an emergency CT scan and the horrific news that Felix had a craniopharyngioma, i.e. brain tumour.
This was the start of a very difficult journey where Felix underwent two major brain surgeries (totaling 18 hours) and six weeks of Radiotherapy. He also had numerous CT and MRI scans to monitor progress and his response to treatment. All of this during a global pandemic!
Felix was six when he was first admitted to hospital and is a real trooper. He took everything in his stride and has responded well to the surgery. He will need constant monitoring, scans and testing to ensure the tumour doesn't return.
All of us at Smith Consult are eternally grateful for everything the Bristol Children's Hospital did to help Felix. As a special thanks, I'm trying to raise as much money as I possibly can by supporting the Grand Appeal.
In June 2021 I will endeavor to complete a LEJOG (Lands End to John O 'Groats) cycle ride, 1,000+ miles in just over two weeks.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
