Why I'm Running
I work for Thistle Foundation as a Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. I see what this charity does up close, every day. I believe in it completely - which is why I'm running 13.1 miles through Edinburgh on 24 May to raise money for them.
Thistle works with people living with long-term health conditions. People who have often found themselves on the edges - dealing with isolation, inactivity, a loss of identity that comes with serious illness. Through coaching, courses, community groups and supported physical activity, we work alongside people until they feel in control of their lives again.
People stand taller and prouder because of this work, even when their body won't let them literally do that.
The money you donate isn't for me. It's for Thistle to keep reaching people in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and Fife who need this kind of support. We're a small charity but we have an almighty punch - and with your help, we can go further.
