Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At the end of September I have (worryingly) signed up to cycle 200 miles to Cardiff as a group with GVT Cycling. Harvey, Max, Nathan, Chris, Lewis, Will, Josh, Ollie a I have been training (quite) hard and will be taking the scenic route through the Cotswolds on our 3 day cycle.

All of the team have different causes that are close to our hearts for different reasons. I have decided to raise money for Dementia UK, a cause that means a lot to me as dementia is an illness that has affected my granddad over the last year. Dementia is a horrible illness that brings so much physical, emotional and financial strain on the person who's affected but also close family and friends. Unfortunately, dementia is a disease that we still know very little about, and fundraising is vital to keep research going.
