I believe that refugees deserve to be treated with love and respect and given a safe home in the UK. People seeking asylum should be provided with safe passage and allowed to work while their application is considered.

I ran my first marathon in 2014 and the Abingdon Marathon on 22 October 2023 will be my eigth. It will also be the first one since turning 60. Running has given me so much and I would like to give something back to a cause that is dear to my heart. In 1995 I was involved in starting a successful community campaign to support a Nigerian family in Edinburgh facing deporatation in their appeal to secure refugee status.

I'm fundraising for Refugee Action as they've been standing up for and providing vital front line sevices for refugees since 1981.
