18 of us are cycling from Whitehaven to Tynemouth on May 19th, to raise money for the Haywood Foundation.  The Foundation exists to improve the lot of patients with arthritis in the North Staffordshire. We do this by buying items of equipment for the Haywood Hospital (eg the Dexa machine for detecting osteoporosis), by sponsoring health professionals to attend courses, and by a programme of research based at the Haywood. We are currently sponsoring a needs assessment of  patients with arthritis attending the Haywood.
