Andy's Paris return 22-25 July

Paris return 22-25 July · 25 July 2017
As some of you are aware, back in January our lives changed dramatically when our son, Samuel, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. After a few totally out of character bed wetting episodes & noticing him drinking a lot we took him to the dr to be told we had to take him to the hospital straight away as his blood sugar levels were extremely high. Shocked was not the word! We were lucky that we caught it early when we did or it could have been a much worse experience for him.
That night Samuel had his first insulin injection & he will continue to have to have insulin for the rest of his life. He has to have his sugar levels tested numerous times daily, hypos & highs treated & insulin injections twice a day. He has coped so well and we are so proud of him. It's so much for us to adjust to let alone a 5 year old! There is no cure for this life changing condition.
I am cycling to Paris & back to raise funds for JDRF..the juvenile diabetes research fund. We hope that one day in the future there will be something more that can be done to help diabetics. There may never be a cure but hopefully Samuels life may be made a bit easier as he grows up with all the research that can be done. Your donations can help with this much needed research & any amount that you are able to donate, no matter how small would be gratefully appreciated.
