I was diagnosed with a degenerative lung condition two years ago called IPPFE which doctors believe was linked to my stem cell transplant and treatment for leukaemia many years ago.

A cocktail of drugs have slowed the rate of progression of my disease however I've lost 40% of my lung capacity and the chances are that my capacity will continue to diminish over time. 

I've had to make significant adjustments to my lifestyle over the past couple of years with the days of me being able to run from John O'Groats to Land's End or playing competitive team sports firmly behind me. 

However, my determination to stay active and push myself to my limits to help others remains as strong as ever! On Saturday 2nd June I'll be setting off from Camber Sands and walking 100 km along the Kent coastline to Margate, raising funds for the British Lung Foundation who do so much to support people like me.

After my drop in lung capacity and pneumothorax back in January, this walk represents a big test for me and my puffers but I will get there. It'll be all the sweeter knowing that I've hopefully raised a few £££s to help the British Lung Foundation continue their amazing work at the same time so please do give generously if you can!
