The Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust seeks to assist persons who are currently serving or have served in the Armed Forces, and their dependants, and thereby improve the quality of life of soldiers who have given so much for their country.

Story

The Fight

Andy 'Jackhammer' Jennings v Hugh 'The Hunter' Van Cutsem at the Boodles Boxing Ball, The Park Plaza Hotel, SE1.

In what promises to be a thunderous exchange of fists and fury - I am boxing on Saturday 1 October for the Lt. Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust for injured soldiers and ask for your support (unfortunately tickets are now sold out).

The Charity

Tragically killed on his 27th birthday in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Dougie Dalzell was posthumously awarded the Military Cross for bravery. The Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust has since been set up and is founded upon the deep concern Dougie had for his men.

The Army has improved its support for injured troops in recent years but charities such as this have become a valuable element of the wider support network for injured soldiers and their families.

The Trust supports all active and retired servicemen and women and their families through a variety of grants and also through the provision of facilities, equipment and services including training and education.

No funds will be going towards my post-fight medical bills, so please give generously!
