Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Living with Parkinson's is not easy for either of us. For me, it's a daily struggle with a body that no longer behaves as it should. The tremor in my right hand that makes typing slow and laborious. The muscular stiffness that means every day starts with pain. The fatigue which makes staying awake a struggle. The insomnia which makes sleep an elusive bedfellow.

For Jo, it's watching the man she married shrink and disappear. It's losing the comfort of his reliability and strength. It's waking up next to a strange, frozen face and mourning the loss of her husband's smile. It's having to become the breadwinner, the taxi, the carer.

For us, doing these treks together whilst we can is both a huge privilege and an absolute necessity. They are hard. They are getting harder. At some point they will become too hard. But, whilst we can, we will do as many as possible. The sense of purpose and achievement they bestow upon us is invaluable. It gives us the strength to carry on with the everyday struggle.

Thank you so much for helping make this trek possible for us. It means everything to us.
