Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On April 15th 2018 I will be taking on my FIRST marathon in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. The decision to run and raise money for the charity was a simple one.
Cancer.
'A disease leading to abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body.'
But it doesn't just invade parts of the body, it invades and engulfs that person's entire life, their mental health and their family's well-being.
Those of us lucky enough to be fit, healthy and experiencing the wonders of day-to-day life simply aren't able to fathom what it must be like to have that diagnosis ring through our ears. So imagine the difficulty a 13 year old has processing that information, envision being a young parent who wants to see their son or daughter to grow up without a worry in the world and to fulfil their dreams. That word 'Cancer' has just turned their entire lives upside down.
Remission.
The end goal. The reason I'm running.
The charity provides specialist and personal support to young people on specific wards solely responsible for Cancer patients.
Whether it's one life or hundreds, your support will be greatly appreciated by me, by staff but most importantly by young people and their family's.
Thanks for taking the time to read and please donate what you can.
