The Joanna Brown Trust raises money to encourage involvement in sport. Joanna was a Worcestershire girl who tragically lost her life in the summer of 2008. The same summer, Anthony Maynard also lost his life. Anthony and Joanna never met but both shared a passion for sport and a fundamental human decency and generosity of spirit that humbled those who knew them.
On 19th July 2009 Anthony's uncle and cousin Andy and Phil Maynard, together with former Worcester Warrior Nick Baxter will take part in the Anthony Maynard Sportive, a 110 mile cycle ride through the Berkshire Downs, organised by the Reading Cycling Club in memory of Anthony.
The three of us are seeking to raise money for the Joanna Brown Trust so that more people can come to enjoy and involve themselves in the sort of sporting activities that both Anthony and Joanna enjoyed in life.
