Mental HeAlth - Just TALK · 27 June 2019

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Andy Poole, I have served our country for 24 years in the Army as a member of the Corps of Royal Engineers. I am now the Practice Manager of Kirton Medical Centre. Since leaving the Army 8 years ago far too many men that I have had the privilege to serve alongside have made the decision to take their own lives.  I am trying to raise awarness of Mental Health issues among men and women, not just Veterans and get the message out there that........

"it`s OK to Talk - JUST Talk"

The event will take place at Kirton Medical Centre just south of Boston. Starting at 1200 on the 27th June and finish at 1200 on the 28th June (Thursday to Friday)  I plan to cycle 365 km over 24 hrs on my static trainer. In attendance will be members of all three services, either still serving or Veterans. The plan is for the local Mental Health Team to run an awareness stand during the event so that we can help and advise those that might need it. I will also be inviting local youth groups along in the evening so that they too gain a better understanding & awareness of Mental Health.

Every penny helps, so thank you in advance for your donation. If you are local then please pop in and see me or the team.
