Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, its bobsled time!
On 26th February this year, inspired by 'The Last Leg's' Alex Brooker becoming the first disabled man in history to take part in the most dangerous of Winter Olympic sports - the double luge - and Nash & Dixon, the only British bobsled team to have won a gold medal back in 1964, I will be taking my place in a four man bobsleigh to slide down the track at Innsbruck. Although I am visually impaired, I'm a bit disappointed they're not letting me be the pilot to be honest, but with Para Bobsleigh not being included in the Winter Paralympics until 2022 at the earliest, this could be my chance to stake my claim for a place on the team!
Whilst I will be more protected than Alex was on his luge (basically a tea-tray on skates!), it will not be easy - there are 18 turns on the 1km track and I am told that the sled can reach speeds of 70mph!!!
