01/05/23 UPDATE:
A truly heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the amazing people, named and unnamed, that have donated to our fundraising campaign for Whizz-Kidz. Your generosity means more to me and my family than we can easily express, certainly got me to the finish line, and most importantly will have such a profound impact on the lives of young people in need. Each and every one of you is our hero. I’m still processing the experience, and hope to be able to thank each of you individually, but please know we are extremely grateful. There’s still time to donate, so please if anyone else is able to help us reach the target it would mean a lot 🥰
I am running the TCS London Marathon 2023 to support Whizz-Kidz' vital services for young wheelchair users. Please sponsor me and help transform young people's lives.
My family's summer 2022 was turned upside-down when my 4-year-old daughter Hattie broke her leg and was immobile for a couple of months. As a vibrant little girl preparing to start primary school we saw firsthand the massive difference having a wheelchair made to maintaining her resilience, confidence and independence across this period. But our short experience is nothing compared to the challenges some young people face.
For a young wheelchair user society can be that bit more challenging to navigate. The right wheelchair is more than just a set of wheels; it can be the key to unlocking a young person’s potential. Whizz-Kidz’ range of services give young disabled people the chance to lead a fun and active childhood, while gaining independence and growing in confidence.
Running has transformed my physical and mental wellbeing since kicking off Couch-to-5k in April 2022. A year on, with your support I will be running 26.2 miles so that Whizz-Kidz can similarly transform the lives of young people who really need it.
Thank you so much for your support!
Andy (& fundraising champions Gemma, Hattie and Evie)
