We are Supporting the Volcanic Disaster to Provide Essential Supplies for Families

Story

I Realise how lucky I am to live in a country where I have all of my basic needs met.I truly believe this is something everybody should be able to have. Growing up we didn’t have much money but my mum always found something she could send to people back home who didn’t have anything.

My dad was from St Vincent so I’m raising funds for the people of Saint Vincent after the devastating effects of the volcanic eruptions there last April. Nearly a year on many life’s are still in turmoil. (See Article below)  I did a triathlon last May and will be doing another one in March. I’ve paid to do the event so all funds will be going to the charity.

I’ve spoken Karen at the St vincent High comission and she  assured me that all the money raise will be going towards helping with schools, people with special needs and the farmers who have lost there  livelihood.

What ever you can spare will be greatly appreciated. Even pound or two would be greatly appreciated. I know times are hard so no amount is to small.

Thank you

What’s Happening in St Vincent Now.

Hundreds of people affected by the explosive eruption of the La Soufrière volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are still unable to return home despite being given the all-clear to do so. Since the initial eruption last April, Red Cross teams have been supporting more than 4,000 people with water, emergency relief supplies, as well as hygiene and cleaning items and are now assisting families with recovery.

Grenadines Red Cross support adding that psychosocial support, especially for children impacted by the disaster, is also a critical component of the response. They are providing over 400 children with psychosocial support kits including learning and recreational items.

At least 1500 people (500 families) still require shelter support due to the level of damage sustained to their homes.
