I am raising money for a fantastic cause having visited and got involved in the Peru Mission in 2016.

The Peru Mission was established on 8th February 2012, with the express objective of contributing to the bettering of conditions for the poorest and most disadvantaged members of society in this developing country.  It is based in Iquitos, Loreto in the North-Eastern corner of Peru, but supports and works in partnership with aid agencies and missionary groups across the country.

In August last year myself and 12 others made the trip to contribute to a project we had been raising money for. The task was building a Maloca, an outsidestructure, used for eating lunch as well as a teaching and a general purpose group area in a school in a barijo in Iquitos. With the help of some local builders we mixed cement, laid it, built walls and steps with bricks and basically spent 7 days working to help complete the project.

This provided an invaluable outdoor space to the wonderful children of Fe y Alegria school. Alongside the bricklaying the team got involved in teaching classes English, providing support to local police on important subjects, visited a local hospital to provide advice and guidance and helped in sewing classes at a local orphange.

As you can imagine it was an incredibly rewarding trip and I'd like to raise money to ensure more groups are able to experience the chance to  work with the people of this amazing country making an almost immediate impact to their lives.
