Story
On Wednesday 19th February the auld lad died, suddenly, playing golf at just 57 years of age. Dad played off a respectable handicap of 8 so it was no surprise that his last shot on the golf course's most difficult 5th hole was a pitch onto the green, leaving only a putt for a par score - a shot he tragically never got to make.
With Dad's medical background he was very consious about his own health and that of others, and was instrumental in helping the golf club to obtain a defibrillator. It's a cruel twist of fate that despite his interest in trauma recovery he was unable to be resucitated after his sudden heart attack with the effort of his good friends, ambulance crews and the assistance of Kent's Air Amublance medics.
Kent Air Ambulance Service is a non funded organisation who rely heavily on fundraising to keep their amazing service going in order help save lives.
I'm running the Paris Marathon on 6th April 2014 in memory of him, and to help raise some money so lives can be saved.
