Cornwall Coastal marathon · 24 April 2010
After a few mediocre half marathons, somehow I've found myself entered for a full marathon on the coastal path in Cornwall. The terrain is described as difficult, rocky and very boggy in places. And that was written by the hard-core trail runners! Not quite sure how I ended up in this mess but I definitely need to make it worthwhile now!
Please help me raise money for a cause close to my heart. I have been volunteering at the Wild Goose cafe for nearly two years, serving meals to homeless people in Bristol. The food, which would otherwise be thrown out, is collected from supermarkets and feeds around 100 people, lunch and evening meal, 5 days a week. Alongside meeting these basic needs, the centre offers advice, support, life skills courses and help with finding housing. Last year alone, over 300 people found accomodation with the help of staff at the centre.
The Wild Goose, which recently featured on Channel 4's Secret Millionaire, is moving to larger premises, after years of serving out of extremely cramped conditions. A pub has been bought and now needs substantial refurbishment. I am hoping to raise £2000 to go towards the costs of this work and would really appreciate it if you were able to help me along the way.
With thanks
Andy
