Story
Andy (and Team Jellycats) is participating in the CRUK Relay for Life 2025! We're coming together to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Let's walk, run, and raise money together to help beat cancer!
The relay starts at 12 noon on 16th August for 24 hours where each team and “The Jellycats’” have to walk/run continuously for 24 hours in a relay around the track at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena, Kilmarnock. We must have at least one team member on the track during the 24 hours.
We have 3 cancer survivors in the team, but everyone else has been affected by the horrible disease, so we all have a passion to raise money for this amazing charity!
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. How does the money you raise power progress?- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer. When you fundraise for Relay For Life, you’re helping fund research and make discoveries. You’re helping bring about a world where everybody can live longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. Together we are beating cancer.
Thank you for your support.
