Story
As people may know, when I turned 40 I did 40 different parkruns to raise money for CALM. After a couple of years off the fundraising wagon (there was some stuff going on globally, I’m sure you noticed), I’m getting back on the horse and saying Boo to the pandemic by riding 43 different 43km bike rides over the course of 2022 (which is, of course, my 43rd year on this great and glorious planet of ours).
As I hope you already know, the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life's problems.
My struggles with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts have been well documented and I won’t go over them again here. Suffice to say CALM is a charity that is very close to my heart.
Please donate in ample amounts and come back here regularly to see how I’m getting on and what routes I’ve been doing. You can also follow my exploits on Strava.
Thanks all.
