As a teenager, I was super fit - swimming and running competitively... I even considered exercising fun! Then I went to university and bought a flat next to a chip shop. For the next 20 years or so, I did very little in the way of exercise - this year I decided to do something about it. I've spent the last few months dieting, losing almost 3 stone and I'm half way through the 'Couch to 5k' running plan. I plan to finish the training course by the middle of December and spend the remaining couple of weeks before the race improving my 5k speed so I don't completely humiliate myself.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland improves the quality of life for people in Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke illness, through medical research, influencing public policy, advice and information and support in the community. They fund research into all aspects of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and the social impact of chest heart and stroke illness. Their current programme is worth more than £1 million.

To maintain and expand their vital work in research and community services, they rely almost entirely on the continuing generosity of the Scottish public, business and community organisations. Every pound they raise in Scotland is spent on research and services in Scotland.

Because of the great work CHSS do, I have decided they are a worthy cause and I'd be grateful for any donation you give me. If we can reach £250 (before GiftAid), my employer will double it - that would be a great donation!
