‘Even the smallest of feet have the power to leave everlasting footprints upon this world’
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
This time last year we found out we were expecting our firstborn. We were beyond excited and happily made plans and dreamt about our future together as a family. Our precious daughter, Imogen Elisabeth Mary Hirst was born sleeping on 14th February 2011 (41w + 2d) weighing 6lbs 13ozs. Imogen was born perfect. We will never know why Imogen’s little heart stopped shortly before she was born but we will be forever proud to have Imogen as our much loved firstborn daughter.
We are completely devastated by the loss of Imogen but have vowed to keep her memory alive. Out of this desire to do something positive in her name we have decided to organise a sponsored walk to raise funds for the maternity services at Bath.

Donations
We got to spend precious hours with Imogen and we will forever cherish these memories. We are so sad though that she will never come home to the room we lovingly prepared for her.
We are delighted that with the help of your donations we can help to refurbish a bereavement room at the RUH, Bath. This room will be used by parents who have sadly lost their baby to spend precious time with them. The importance of this room cannot be underestimated in helping parents come to terms with the loss of their baby, enabling them to spend precious time with their baby and other family members, creating memories that have to last a lifetime and establishing the start of their lifelong journey of grief. We aim to provide a homely environment in which sensitive midwifery and emotional care can be provided at a time of great loss.
We have liaised with the midwives at Bath to determine the list of items required for the refurbishment of the room.
For the cost of the standard room refurbishment, we will need to raise £1,250. This will include redecoration of the room, new curtains/blinds, soft furnishings, pictures and bedding. Any additional donations we receive will be spent on a new sofa bed, adjustable lighting system, a moses basket and bedding, digital camera and printer.
UPDATE - 07.06.11 - As we have now smashed this target we are going to set our sights on the silver package. The total for this will be £3,850 and will enable us to get the further items we have listed above. Every donation will really help us to make a big difference to the bereavement room.
UPDATE - 11.06.11 - We never dared believe that we would raise this much money and have been so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. We have now smashed the target for the silver package and so we can start aiming towards the gold package (or to get as close to it as possible, including gift aid). The total for the gold package is £6,031. Amongst other things this will include everything in the bronze and silver packages and then some reclining chairs, kitchen package (microwave, toaster and table top dishwasher) and a new camera and printer.
UPDATE - 14.07.11 - We have now raised enough for the gold package (£6,031) and so any extra we receive will now go towards the platinum package. The platinum package (£12,500) will include all items in the bronze, silver and gold packages and any further donations will then help towards the funding of the refurbishment of the ensuite bathroom, including a new shower cublicle. This is so fantastic and far exceeds our expectations when we started planning the walk.
We are hoping to raise as much money as possible so we can do something positive in Imogen’s name.
Thank you very much.
Rachel and David xXx
