Ten years ago I ran the London Marathon for charity, and decided that it's time to do it again! Unfortunately I have suffered an injury which means I have deferred to 2022 10km race instead. Still hoping to do the marathon in future years!

Recognising that farm animals play in integral role in the management of the natural environment and food production, CIWF are a great charity, campaigning for high standards of welfare for farmed animals. Sustainability of farming practice is a current top priority as well as stopping all live animal exports.

We have a herd of Pedigree Tamworth pigs, who have a terrific life outdoors. We practice conservation breeding to try to save these wonderful animals, with less than 250 breeding sows left.

Farm animals are important for the environment, but not if they are kept in intensive production systems. Our pigs work clearing ground that has had crops on it, and kindly re-invigorate it along the way, which means no artificial fertilisers are required.

We are in the process of wilding some of our land, and the pigs & sheep are important megafauna in this process.

We need farm animals so let's treat them with the utmost respect!
