Cure Usher raises funds for research into finding a cure for Usher syndrome, the leading cause of genetically inherited combined hearing and sight loss worldwide.

Story

CUREUsher raises funds for research into a cure for Usher syndrome, the leading cause of genetically inherited hearing and sight loss - and raises awareness of the condition affecting over 400,000 people worldwide.

Research into rare diseases is chronically short of funding. Only last month a biotechnology company that had offered the community much hope announced it was stopping its ground breaking gene therapy clinical trials due to a shortage of funding.  The science is evolving but desperately needs funding.

Challenging myself in the triathlon is my attempt to fundraise and raise awareness  for this cause which is close to my heart. My friend Gary Hicks and his friend Dave O’Dell are also taking part in the triathlon and are helping fundraise.

Many thanks for your support.
