Angela’s journey for Alzheimer’s Society 

My name is Angela, I am 69 years old  - and I want to make a difference whilst I still can.  About 15 years ago, my husband took early retirement. He then went to work with a local Alzheimer's group. Since then I have had a lot of aquaintances and friends that I found have the symptoms of Alzheimers, which has really touched me. I have noticed how rife it has become. 

It is sad to see that the body is functioning perfectly, but the brain no longer is, and I wish to help those families - to support them and put money to research. 

I felt that I want to do something substantial. To make a difference.  

Please support me for my  walk around Great Britain. I  had aimed to walk most of Great Britain starting in 2020 but  because of Covid 19, this has been delayed until this year. Although while waiting, I managed to make a start in July 2021 for a few months. I also raised funds by collecting in supermarkets, selling food and various other fundraising events.  

March 2022 I have restarted my trek in South Wales. In April I will be walking on the Isle of Wight as a friend will be providing support, I will then return to walking in Wales prior to heading north to Scotland. 

 I  aim to walk around 10 miles per day, and will try to accomplish this through hard work and a lot of time and dedication. This is my challenge, and I want to achieve as much of this as I can.
