This November (NB Trek date has changed to 24th March to 2nd April 2007) I hope to set off on the adventure (& challenge?) of a lifetime. Myself & a team from Southampton University/ Hospital will trek along the Inca trail in Peru to the ancient lost city of Machu Picchu. We are still looking for others to join us so please get in touch - it's not too late!

This web page should help me achieve my fundraising target of £4,000, raising money for "The Gift of Sight Appeal". This charity helps fund research in to blinding eye conditions such as childhood-onset nystagmus and age-related macular degeneration, in the Gift of Sight eye research laboratory in Southampton.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Hope/Gift of Sight charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

£10 will pay for one hour of laboratory research, £25 will buy essential laboratory consumable items such as test tubes and £100 will help to analyse a batch of DNA samples. Laboratory running costs are £100,000 a year, so please sponsor me now!
