Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's just a few years ago. Contrary to many people's beliefs this is not something that just affects the very elderly. Unfortunately Alzheimer's and similar degenerative brain diseases are on the increase, and are starting to affect younger and younger people. Sadly, the younger the person is, the more aggressive the illness seems to be, and the decline with Mum has been extremely rapid.  She passed away aged just 58.

There is currently no cure for these types of illnesses, and in our experience support from charities and local authorities is often very poor. Any donation you make will go towards learning more about this terrible illness, and hopefully one day finding a cure.
