We give home and hope to children in need to give them a chance in life

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know,  last October we decided to take on the sponsorship of one of the Happy House children - 2 year old Neema. (pictured above wearing the dress we sent her for her second birthday) We are able to watch her progress, get regular updates from the Happy House team, send her letters, cards and gifts and donate extra money if it is needed for particular items.

In July my daughter, Emma and I are travelling to Kenya to volunteer at the Happy House, an orphange run by Sue Hayward  who is from the North West of England and now lives in Watamu caring for all these children.

Sue has devoted over 14 years of her life making a difference to the children of Watamu.  First building schools and a library then the Happy House which opened in March 2010.  In the Happy House these very vulnerable, frightened, adandoned or sometimes cruelly abused children can finally feel safe, go to sleep in a bed and wake up to a breakfast.  A place where they will grow to be part of a 'family' in a loving caring atmosphere. Currently there are just over 100 children in the Happy House. Please help and make a donation.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
