Story
As one of Britain's best known and most loved print makers we are honoured to welcome Angie Lewin as one of our Printmaking heroes.
Angie is a painter, printmaker and designer based in Scotland. She creates limited edition linocut, wood engraving, lithograph and screen prints alongside her original watercolours - often inspired by skeletal plant forms seen against the sea and sky of North Norfolk and the Scottish Highlands. Angie's chosen charity is Horatio's Garden Scotland.
Horatio’s Garden Scotland has transformed the lives of patients, their loved ones and NHS staff affected by spinal cord injury. The spinal centre serves patients from across the entirety of Scotland, from the country’s southern border to the Orkney and Shetland Islands. The view from the wards, communal rooms and gorgeous garden room is now life-affirming, with clever planting ensuring those spending time in the spinal centre always have something uplifting to see.
Angie will be offering her print 'Meadow II' as the prize in this draw to raise money for this wonderful charity. 'Meadow II' is a lithograph, printed in four colours, which was editioned in 2008 at the Curwen Studio This print has not been available for many years and this artist’s proof (A/P), from Angie's archive, is the last of the edition. The image is based on sketches made in the meadow garden of her home, at the time, in North Norfolk.
