Story

Our new Emergency Fostering Unit is taking shape and we hope to have the first residents in mid August.

We have 27 state of the art cat pods which can take two cats each. Some of them are special mother and kitten pods for the many mums and kittens that are flooding in at this time of year.

We have an emergency isolation unit and an air filtration unit to stop the spread of diseases.

And a small furry unit for the rabbits, guinea pigs and little critters that are unwanted and abandoned.

But we still need help.

More and more animals are coming to the Branch as emergencies with their owners evicted or unable to care for them and the recession has made the situation worse than ever before.  Abandonments are up by 50 per cent. The unit will means the Branch are able to save more animals and make every penny go further.

The Branch is looking for sponsorship to help get the unit started..

£500 will sponsor a cat pod – each pod with a bed, a run and it’s own ventilation to stop infection will help 50 cats a year. Each sponsored pod will get a sponsor’s plaque.

£100 will sponsor a pen for a rabbit or small furry.

£50 will buy a plaque on the wall of the unit with your own message. You can choose a message in memory of a pet, to mark a special occasion or to record your support for London’s animals.

…but any size donation you can give will help local animals.

Please help us to help London’s animals which are most at risk and in need

About the charity

Each year the Central London Branch of the RSPCA helps around 1,500 cats, dogs, rabbits and other animals. One of our main activities is running a cat neutering scheme, which helps people who cannot afford vets' fees, to have their animals neutered. This service is available in the Greater London area, with the support of other RSPCA branches and other charities. We also do as much as we can to help animals in distress, and find them permanent or temporary homes. We are a separate charity from RSPCA Headquarters with responsibility for raising funds to pay for the work that we do. We constantly apply our funds to help as many animals as possible in the Branch area.
