Event: 2022 Halifax Walk to END PKD, on 11 September 2022
The Walk to END PKD signifies a group united in spirit, moving towards treatment options and a cure for PKD, one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases affecting thousands in Canada. A cure is our finish line!

Story

I am one of the PKD Halifax Chapter coordinators and live in Halifax  and grew up in Mabou.  My mom had PKD and died in 1973 – she had 8 children and 4 of us have the disease and 4 of us have been blessed with transplants.  Two of my brothers generously donated kidneys and the third sibling received a cadaveric kidney.  I was blessed with a kidney from a live donor in October 2021 from my hero donor.   We are a family that is familiar with  PKD and  the amazing gift of transplantation.

You  can help me make an incredible impact in raising awareness and funds for critical PKD research! By making a personal donation your efforts will help strengthen the direct funding of the PKD Foundation of Canada's mission to promote programs of research, advocacy, education, support and awareness in order to discover treatments and cure for PKD and improve the lives of all it affects!

Thank you.
