As you probably know, in a moment of weakness (read: drunkeness) last January, Lucy and I goaded each other into running a marathon this year.
After weeks of training and 541 miles pounding the pavements of Durham, the big day is nearly upon us. On 10 January 2016, we will run the Disney World Florida Marathon - our first (and in my case last) marathon.
It would be remiss of us to let the occasion pass-by without taking the opportunity to raise money.
The charity we have chosen is the Alzheimer's Society.
Dementia can happen to anyone and there's currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.
The Alzheimer's Society, believe passionately that life doesn't end when dementia begins. They are here for anyone affected by dementia, and do all they can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.
The Society are dedicated to defeating dementia through research. They fund research into the causes, cure, care and prevention of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.
Any donation small or large would be gratefully received
