Sparkle Anj runs again

Brighton Half Marathon 2021 · 10 October 2021 ·
I hate running. I really hate running. So much do I hate running that I pledged to retire from running forever. Then the scary pandemic happened and even though there were no zombies (whaaaat?) lots of charities had to change what they did and need money to keep going. And I'm now running again to support Sunday Assembly London.
I volunteer for Sunday Assembly London, a wonderful community-led and run little charity. It’s sometimes described as a church community without religion. Pre the evil virus, we met twice a month for singing pop songs, listening to interesting speakers and talking to other humans. It was so wonderful we moved it online did our singing and stuff on the Zoom. It costs a lot less, it’s still fun but it’s not quite the same. We wanna assemble face-to-face from the autumn / when we’re allowed.
This means we have to pay for Conway Hall, the venue we use. That’s about £900 a pop. Plus, we want to keep it free so anyone can join us.
In a crazy moment, possibly suffering from heatstroke (I’m fine mum) I decided to run this half marathon to give a little bit of money to help Sunday Assembly go back to real life again.
Please sponsor me if you are able. Every penny will go towards making someone (if only me) smile.
I know times are tough for many, so you can also cheer me on virtually or in real life on 10th October. I will be pretending to be being chased by Zombie Squirrels.
Sunday Assembly London is part of a global, secular community* that celebrates life.
As a community we try to live by the values:
live better - help often - wonder more
* It’s defo not a cult. Really mum, it’s not a cult.
