Story

In 2020 my husband and I decided to take a year off to go on a long cycle tour around Europe. We all know that this was the year the pandemic started, and although we did manage to go abroad for three months, border and Covid restrictions meant that we didn't get as far as we would have liked.

This year I am raising funds for Camphill Communities Milton Keynes (read below to find out more about the charity), and I have decided to do a virtual cycle tour across Europe, from Saint-Brevin-les-Pins on the Atlantic coast to Constanta on the Black Sea. It's a slightly amended version of the Eurovelo 6, a route which visits 9 countries and follows a number of major European rivers.
The route includes stretches which we have actually cycled in the past, and it will be lovely to revisit those memories.
The distance is just shy of 2680 miles and I am giving myself a year to complete this challenge, starting in March 2023.

I am planning to give regular updates, marking on the map how far I have come virtually.
Wish me luck!

At Camphill Communities MK we have around 70 residents living and working together with the support and encouragement of staff, volunteers a who help them to live as independently as possible and reach their full potential.
Supporting Camphill MK will enable us to continue creating communities that live, learn, work, and celebrate together and help adults with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible and reach their full potential.
At CMKC we share our lives, our successes and our challenges.
